Week 3 and 4
Happy 4th of July! We have had so much fun these past few weeks. We did lots of 4th of July things. The younger kids made 4th of July hats and we even had our own very small fireworks show. We had We had our 3rd Annual Worm Races. We Learned about Greece and Greek Mythology which the kids enjoyed. We ate Greek Nachos with hamburger not lamb! And we made Olympic Olive Brach Crowns. We learned about Strawberries for Harvest of the Month. We tried them raw and made Fruit Salsa afterwards. It was very yummy!
We had a very special guest come from Wessington Springs to teach us about Brazil. Mara Meier is originally from Brazil and has lived in South Dakota for the last 12 years. She was kind enough to come and teach the kids about Brazil. She taught us a lot and even made us a Brazilian cake to try as well as Brazilian Nuts for all of the kids to take home.
